ABOUT THE SUMMIT FOUNDATION

THE SUMMIT FOUNDATION

Founded by Stuart and Zoe Webber, The Summit Foundation aims to create awareness and opportunities for young people to help them achieve their potential. It works with other charitable organisations to create programmes to educate and create better lives.

The Summit Foundation’s aims are simple, help our little corner of the world to get better and let the youth of today educate and provide a better way for the people of tomorrow.

Society is in a challenging place and it’s never been harder for young people to find direction, we need to show young people that their aspirations can be achieved irrespective of their background. It’s hard for young people to break the poverty cycle, by encouraging better wellbeing, through nutrition, sleep and exercise, we can help create better educational attainment and better opportunities.

We also aim to inspire brighter futures and build the confidence in young people to take that step on their own journey. Some of our fundraising activities will also focus on encouraging children to achieve.

How will the charity work?

We work with schools and other charitable organisations to target those most in need. We design programmes that support young people to achieve. This can be as simple as making sure that they understand how to eat properly or that they have a bed to sleep in. Levels of obesity in young people is rising but also levels of malnutrition. In 2022 we believe everyone should understand the fundamental basics of wellbeing as these are key foundations of attainment and achievement.

We will also work with young people to inspire and build confidence, by creating opportunities for children and young people to thrive. We target projects that help young people reach new heights.

The dream is that for every person we help, they go back in the future and help another. As the old saying goes…..“give a man a fish he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime”

Why The Summit Foundation?

This came from Zoe, Stuart has always had the dream of climbing Mount Everest and when in 2020 he decided to pursue that dream Zoe felt that if he was going to set himself such an extreme challenge then he may as well do it for a good cause! With the aim of the charity being for young people to summit their own heights, fellow Trustee, Lauren came up with The Summit Foundation, a name that relates to both Stuart’s challenge and the charity’s aim.

Stuart will be providing the financial support to achieve his goal of climbing Everest and will use it to raise awareness of the foundation.

Jonathan, came up with a brilliant idea to create our own podcast. We’ve done this, not only to raise awareness of the charity but also to educate and inspire people through hearing the stories of others.

Quite often these stories are about resilience and determination or about coming through difficult times. We have been amazed by the response of our guests and we can’t thank them enough for giving up their time to support this valuable work. Jonathan and Stuart had to test their own confidence to turn their hands to being podcasts hosts but they’ve overcome their nerves and have spoken to people from the world of elite sport, the military and the arts. They’ve spoken to people about their own stories, including dealing with death, divorce, failure and success, the latter providing a real understanding of how to avoid the ego taking over! We hope you will find it both interesting and rewarding so please keep an eye (or ear) out for The Climb Podcast which will be launched in April.
